ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE


Ragging in any form is a criminal offence and is strictly prohibited inside and outside the Institute. As per the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, AICTE and Government of Telangana, strict action is recommended against students indulging in or abetting ragging.

Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or propagates ragging within or outside any educational institution shall be punished as per the rules. If a student is involved in ragging prior to admission, such student will be denied admission to the Institute.

If it is found at a later stage that an admitted student has indulged in any act of ragging, such student will be rusticated.

Ragging is a criminal offence and is strictly prohibited by both State and Central Governments. Punishments include imprisonment up to three years with a fine of Rs. 50,000/- and/or dismissal from the college.

OBJECTIVES
  • To prohibit, prevent and eliminate ragging in all forms including any conduct that causes physical or mental harassment to a fresher or any other student.
  • To monitor, direct and oversee the functions and performance of Anti-Ragging Squads in prevention and curbing of ragging in the institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To be vigilant at all hours across the campus and other vulnerable places and inspect areas having the potential for ragging.
  • To conduct surprise raids on hostels and other places vulnerable to ragging.
  • To conduct on-the-spot enquiries into incidents of ragging and submit enquiry reports with recommendations to the Head of the Institution for action.
  • To ensure the display of anti-ragging posters on Institution and Department notice boards and other prominent locations.
  • To formulate procedures for collecting affidavits from all first-year students at the time of admission.
