Promoting Innovation, Research and Industrial Collaboration
With the rapid development of Science & Technology, the Research & Development (R&D) Cell at Brilliant Institute of Engineering & Technology, Abdullapurmet, R.R Dist was established in February, 2018. The Cell is managed by a Chief Coordinator, Research Associate, and other office staff.
The Department of Civil Engineering actively participates in the R&D Cell's activities, focusing on sustainable construction, structural health monitoring, water resources management, and smart infrastructure. The department encourages faculty and students to undertake funded research projects and industry-sponsored consultancy work in collaboration with construction and infrastructure companies.

Objectives of R & D Cell
- To develop research skills among faculty and students in civil engineering.
- To promote research in structural engineering, geotechnics, and environmental engineering.
- To create zeal among students towards innovation in construction and infrastructure development.
- To work closely with construction industry and government infrastructure needs resulting in improved solutions.
- To have periodical interactive sessions with construction entrepreneurs and infrastructure developers.
- To enhance skill development training in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS.
- To serve government organizations by taking up sponsored projects in infrastructure and water resources.
- To conduct research on sustainable construction materials, green buildings, and smart cities.
Functions of R & D Cell
- To ensure smooth functioning and effective management of R&D activities in the Civil department.
- To provide a central coordination point for R&D activities among faculty and research students.
- To identify potential projects and funding sources from DST, AICTE, and government bodies.
- To establish collaboration with construction companies, research centers, and government agencies.
- To liaise with HMDA, NHAI, and private sector for consultancy-based R&D projects.
- Implementation, follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of ongoing research projects.
- To assist in matters related to collaborative research with other agencies.
