Promoting Innovation, Research and Industrial Collaboration

With the rapid development of Science & Technology, the Research & Development (R&D) Cell at Brilliant Institute of Engineering & Technology, Abdullapurmet, R.R Dist was established in February, 2018. The Cell is managed by a Chief Coordinator, Research Associate, and other office staff.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering actively participates in the R&D Cell's activities, focusing on advanced manufacturing, thermal systems, composite materials, and robotics. The department encourages faculty and students to undertake funded research projects and industry-sponsored consultancy work in collaboration with manufacturing industries.

Objectives of R & D Cell

  • To develop research skills among faculty and students in mechanical engineering.
  • To promote research in advanced manufacturing, thermal engineering, and materials science.
  • To create zeal among students towards innovation in mechanical design and production.
  • To work closely with manufacturing industries and automotive sector needs resulting in improved products.
  • To have periodical interactive sessions with manufacturing entrepreneurs and industrialists.
  • To enhance skill development training in CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing.
  • To serve government organizations by taking up sponsored projects in manufacturing and design.
  • To conduct research on sustainable manufacturing, green energy, and additive manufacturing.

Functions of R & D Cell

  • To ensure smooth functioning and effective management of R&D activities in the Mechanical department.
  • To provide a central coordination point for R&D activities among faculty and research students.
  • To identify potential projects and funding sources from DST, AICTE, and industry bodies.
  • To establish collaboration with manufacturing industries, research centers, and automotive companies.
  • To liaise with BHEL, DRDO, and private sector for consultancy-based R&D projects.
  • Implementation, follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of ongoing research projects.
  • To assist in matters related to collaborative research with other agencies.
