Water Harvesting
Rainwater Harvesting
Sustainable Water Management for a Greener Campus
Brilliant Group of Technical Institutions (BRIL) actively promotes sustainable environmental practices through the implementation of an efficient Rainwater Harvesting System across the campus. This initiative helps conserve water resources and supports the institution's commitment to environmental responsibility.
The rainwater harvesting system collects and channels rainwater into specially designed recharge pits and drainage structures, allowing the water to slowly percolate into the ground. This process significantly improves the groundwater table in the surrounding areas while ensuring that valuable rainwater is not wasted.
The system also helps in reducing waterlogging during heavy rains by effectively managing the flow of excess rainwater. Surplus water is directed to deep sewers and storage structures around the campus, which helps maintain the natural water balance and supports the growth of greenery within the campus environment.
BRIL also encourages students to participate in research and scientific studies related to water conservation. Final-year students are motivated to undertake innovative projects focusing on rainwater harvesting and sustainable water management. The institution regularly organizes seminars, workshops and expert lectures to provide students with deeper insights into environmental conservation practices.
