The Research & Development (R&D) Cell at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, BRIL was established to foster a culture of innovation and applied research among students and faculty. The cell is managed by a Chief Coordinator, Research Associate, and other office staff.
The prime objective of the cell is to promote and encourage aspiring students and faculty members to carry out research in the field of electronics, communication, and emerging technologies by providing the necessary facilities and infrastructure required for them.

Objectives of R & D Cell
- To develop research skills among the faculty and students.
- To promote and encourage aspiring students and faculty members to carry out research in the field of electronics, communication, and technology.
- To create zeal among the students towards research and innovation.
- To work closely with industrial needs that eventually result in new or improved products, processes, systems or services.
- To have periodical interactive sessions with entrepreneurs and industrialists.
- To enhance skill development training and self-employment opportunities.
- To serve government organizations by taking up sponsored projects.
Functions of R & D Cell
- To ensure smooth functioning and effective management of R&D activities in the department.
- To provide a central coordination point for R&D activities among faculty members and research students.
- To identify potential projects and funding sources and communicate them to relevant authorities.
- To establish collaboration with universities, research centers, and industries for research and development projects.
- Implementation, follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects.
- To assist in matters related to collaborative research with other agencies.
